My heart broke yesterday for two very different reasons. When I got over myself enough to see the outside world I realized that my personal heartache is trivial. So, this post is for the things that I am grateful for.
My sweet husband. He wasn't sure if chocolate, flowers or a night out would help. It's hard when we don't know what to say but want to be there for our loved ones.
Cathy. Life keeps us too busy to be the friends that we were a few years ago but time is not able to take the "Sister" out of us. She cares, she loves and listens. I'm sure that she loves the phone calls that start with,.."I just need someone to talk to..." She is eternally precious to me and I hope she knows how much I love my little sister.
Sisters. I was blessed with four great sisters. We love, we listen, we give advice (even if not asked for) and we are always there. My mother once said that she had seven kids so we always had someone to fight with or play with. I am never alone.
Friends. How good is the friend who will let me walk in uninvited and fall on her couch for a good cry, a large Dr. Pepper and not judge? How about the friends who help search for answers to the problem? And finally, how about the friend who calls late at night and has the decency to cry with me? Whatever choices I make at this point I have support! Life can be so good with friends who are as close as sisters. I am blessed.
All that being said, my world is small and sometimes trivial. Cathy called later with family news and I knew that the Lord was saying, "get over yourself Tammy, your energy is needed elsewhere other than that focused on yourself." I love my family dearly and pray fervently for a brighter future for them all!
Thanks for the prayers.
ReplyDeleteOkay, your a butt. I don't want to cry and you did it again. Mom's already scolded me for cursing on the world wide web so I will avoid that. I just have to say..."do what you want to me...if you cross my family all heck will come about." I know threatening, but aren't you a little scared:-0 Mom did do us a great favor by having a bunch of us, I can see that now. Love, you tons.
