What...Tammy in a choir?

Many who know me know certain things about me. Those who knew me "pre-Les" knew someone who was going to be a famous writer. Those who knew me during the "Young Women Years" knew a woman driven to inspire modesty and testimonies in young women. (during this time my own mother told me that I was a prude but I'm sure I wouldn't change my behavior). Now I am enjoying the 'settling' that my soul has been taking. I'm comfortable with who I am. I don't necessarily search out new experiences. I take joy in the place that my life is at right now. (This is not to infer that my life is roses and koolaid. The kids still live here and last I checked so does the husband so we all know that means I am not truly in control of my little universe.:))

I received a call from a friend in the ward two weeks ago asking me to join a womens choir in Salt Lake. I laughed, thanked her and explained that everyone knows that I play the piano. She said that she felt strongly about calling me, so I told her I would think about it. Anyways, I did it! I paid my money, and jumped in the car pool headed to the first rehearsal. Ladies and Gentlemen...in the matter of 2 1/2 hours I was able to channel the drama princess of my youth, mix her with my contented present self and become one fired up little singer! My private dream has always been to sing and I will be the first to admit that Heavenly Fathers knows me so well that He knows if I truly had that talent I would have broken my Mother's heart many years ago with choices I would have made in pursuit of fame. However, it was so fulfilling to me to join these women in songs of the heart and being able to share my love of the gospel one more way. On the way home I turned to the dear friend in the car who invited me to join her choir and told her it felt as though I had just attended a very successful therapy session!

My friends....Life Is Good!
