My resolve

I love my friends! After a long day my phone started ringing off the hook. My friends were worried about my family and our safety, everyone was offering us a place to stay for the night. Apparently, there was a very sad stand-off up the street and the man ended up killing himself. We knew nothing about this because we were in the basement having family night. After that we pulled our curtains upstairs shut (because I think they are bullet-proof) and watched the going-ons of my street. Homes were evacuated up to my house and the police tape was drawn across the street. I was never scared for our safety but really just so sad for those involved. How sad that this man didn't have friends searching him out to make sure he was OK or just to visit on a random Monday in his life. I will resolve to be a better friend and to open my home to those in need more often.
