It was a rough break this time we were off track. The weather worked against us and it is very hard to enjoy our time off if we are stuck inside staring at one another and drinking hot cocoa to stay warm.
So, this morning I made sure all the boys alarms were set! Clothes clean! Backpacks by the front door and breakfast planned. Last night I read to them, sang to them, prayed with them and gently explained that no one, NO ONE is allowed to get sick, have growing pains, or sleep in.
It was a successful movement! Piano practicing was done, job's tidied up, breakfast eaten and cleaned up, practically everyone brushed their teeth. (Don't judge me, we all have our challenges), the boys were scriptured with, prayed over and then I warmly stood at the door as they rode away on their bikes (a smigen early) and waved with the parting words of, "Do not come home until AFTER the final bell of the day!"
